Mozilla kills Flash

Bad news for those of you who are nostalgic or still enjoy a flash game from time to time. The latest news come from Mozilla – they have blocked all versions of flash!

The message above can be read on the Flash addon page. On this page, the team at Mozilla also answers a question many have asked: “Why?”. The explanations is plain and simple: “Old versions of the Flash Player plugin have known vulnerabilities.”.

Who’s affected by this? Everyone.

Mark Schmidt, head of Firefox Support, made his anti-Flash position really clear in a tweet.

BIG NEWS!! All versions of Flash are blocked by default in Firefox as of now. https://t.co/4SjVoqKPrR #tech #infosec pic.twitter.com/VRws3L0CBW

However, things might not be definitive. Mozilla is pressing adobe to come up with a new patched version. This comes after a critical flaw experienced by Flash Player. Adobe quickly fixed the issue but then encountered some even more critical ones.

Until then, with HTML5 here and very functional, would we really miss it?
